Enrollment
Welcome to Waxahachie ISD
Educational Journey
Waxahachie ISD is committed to providing students with a balanced, high-quality education in a safe and supportive environment. The district focuses on nurturing confident, compassionate, and adaptable individuals through academics, athletics, arts, and enrichment activities.
Admission
- Waxahachie ISD welcomes all students living within district boundaries who meet the state's age and health requirements.
- WISD students are assigned to schools based on their home address.
- Exceptions include Global High School and High School of Choice. These schools admit students through an application process rather than by school zone.
- Marvin Biomedical and Wilemon STEAM Academies are zone-plus choice campuses, offering seats through a lottery system. For details about admission to these campuses, contact the schools directly.
Enrollment can be completed entirely online, and this option is strongly encouraged. If you require assistance with the process or prefer to apply in person, please contact the PEIMS office at (469) 383-7590 to schedule an appointment for primary schools, or contact the campus directly for secondary schools.
Elementary Enrollment
Assistance with elementary enrollment is available at the Evelyn Love Coleman building, located at 1000 US Highway 77 North. To make an appointment, please contact the PEIMS office at (469) 383-7590.
Secondary Enrollment
For assistance with secondary enrollment, please contact the campus directly to schedule an in-person appointment. Walk-ins are accepted, but those with scheduled appointments will be given priority.

Legal Residency
Student Residency
The McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act is a federal law that helps to ensure that unhoused youth can enroll in school and attend consistently. Waxahachie ISD removes barriers so students can participate fully in school, even if they lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence. Please complete the Student Residency questionnaire to determine the services for which students may be eligible. Visit the Homeless Education page for more details.
Voluntary Adult Caregiver
Complete the Voluntary Adult Caregiver Authorization Agreement, which is executed pursuant to Chapter 34 of the Texas Family Code, to evidence a parent’s voluntary designation of a non-parent adult caregiver and to confer limited, temporary authority for that caregiver to make specified educational, medical, and other day-to-day decisions on behalf of the child, as set forth in this agreement, without the necessity of court-ordered guardianship or custody.
